2 if YHWH had not been for us, in the rising up of men against us, 3 then they would have swallowed us alive, in the burning of their anger against us; 4 then the waters would have engulfed us, the stream would have passed over our soul; 5 then would have passed over our soul the raging waters. 6 Blessed be YHWH, who has not given us as prey to their teeth! 7 Our soul like a bird has escaped from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have slipped away. 8 Our help is in the name of YHWH, the Maker of the heavens and the earth.
