45 And from the sixth hour there came darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. 46 And, about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "My God! My God! Why didst Thou forsake Me?" 47 And some of those standing there, hearing it , said, "This One is calling for Elijah. 48 And straightway one of them, running and taking a sponge, and filling it with vinegar, and putting it on a reed, was giving Him to drink. 49 But the rest said, "Let alone!
