45 Now from the sixth hour, there was darkness over all the land, until the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice and said, Eli, Eli, lmana shabachthani! which means, My God, my God, for this I was kept! 47 Some of the men who were standing by, when they heard it, said, This man has called for Elijah. 48 And immediately one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. 49 But the rest said, Hush, let us see if Elijah will come to save him. 50 But Jesus again cried out with a loud voice, and gave up his breath.
