As they approached Jerusalem (city of peace) and came to Bethphage (house of figs) on the Mount of Olives, Jesus (YHWH saves) sent out two disciples (pupils),

saying to them, “Go into the village ahead of you⁺, and at once you⁺ will find a donkey tied there, with her colt beside her. Untie them and bring them to Me.

If anyone questions you⁺, tell him that the Lord {Kyrios} needs them, and he will send them right away.

This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:

“Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See (Behold), your King comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey .’”

So the disciples (pupils) went and did as Jesus (YHWH saves) had directed them.

They brought the donkey and the colt and laid their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.

A massive crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed were shouting: “Hosanna (deliver us) to the Son of David (Psalm 118:25)!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord !” “Hosanna in the highest (“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”)!”

When Jesus had entered Jerusalem (city of peace), the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?

The crowds replied, “This is Jesus (YHWH saves), the prophet from Nazareth (branch) in Galilee (circuit).

Then Jesus (YHWH saves) entered the temple courts \the temple/ and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves.

And He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer .’ But you⁺ are making it ‘a den of robbers .’

The blind and the lame came to Him at the temple, and He healed them.

But the chief priests and scribes were indignant when they saw the wonders He performed and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna (deliver us) to the Son of David (beloved)!

“Do You hear what these children are saying? they asked. “Yes, Jesus (YHWH saves) answered. “Have you⁺ never read: ‘From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise

Then He left them and went out of the city to Bethany (house of affliction), where He spent the night.

In the morning, as Jesus was returning to the city, He was hungry.

Seeing a fig tree by the road, He went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. “May you never bear fruit again! He said. And immediately the tree withered.

When the disciples (pupils) saw this, they marveled and asked, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?
