And after six days, Jesus takes along Peter and James and John his brother, and He brings them up onto a high mountain by themselves.

And He was transfigured before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became white as the light.

And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with Him.

And answering, Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, I will make here three tabernacles—one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

In his still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”

And having heard it, the disciples fell upon their face, and they were exceedingly terrified.

And Jesus, having come near and having touched them, said, “Rise up, and do not be afraid.”

And having lifted up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.

And in their coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell no one the vision until the Son of Man should be raised out from the dead.”

And the disciples questioned Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that it is necessary for Elijah to come first?”

And answering, He said, “Elijah indeed comes and will restore all things.

But I say to you? that Elijah did already come, and they did not know him, but they did to him whatever they wanted. Thus also the Son of Man is about to suffer under them.”

Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them about John the Baptist.

And on their having come to the crowd, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him

and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and suffers miserably; for often he falls into the fire, and often into the water.

And I brought him to Your disciples, and they were not able to heal him.”

And answering, Jesus said, “O unbelieving and perverse generation, until when will I be with you?? Until when will I bear with you?? Bring him here to Me.”

And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out from him, and the boy was healed from that hour.

Then the disciples, having come to Jesus in private, said, “Why were we not able to cast it out?”

And He said to them, “Because of your? little faith. For truly I say to you?, if you? have faith as a grain of mustard, you? will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. And nothing will be impossible for you?.”
