1 And, as He was going out of the temple, one of His disciples says to Him, "Teacher, behold, what manner of stones and what manner of buildings!" 2 And Jesus said to him, "Do you see these great buildings? There shall not be left here a stone upon a stone, which shall not be thrown down." 3 And, as He was sitting upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately, 4 "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what is the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?" 5 And Jesus began to say to them, "Take heed, lest some one lead you astray. 6 Many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He ', and will lead many astray. 7 And, when ye hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled; these things must come to pass; but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; and there will be famines: these are the beginning of anguish. 9 "But take heed to yourselves; for they will deliver you up to the councils; and in synagogues ye will be beaten; and before governors and kings ye will stand for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the Gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 And, when they lead you away, delivering you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak; but whatsoever is given you in that hour, this speak: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 And brother will deliver up brother to death; and the father, the child; and children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. 13 And ye will be hated by all for My name's sake; but he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved. 14 But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not, (let him that reads understand), then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains; 15 And let him who is on the house not come down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house; 16 and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his garment.
