24 These were the exploits of Benaiah (YHWH has built up) son of Jehoiada (YHWH knows), who won a name along with the three mighty men.

25 He was most honored among the Thirty, but he did not become one of the Three. And David (beloved) appointed him over his guard.

26 Now these were the mighty men: Asahel (God-made) the brother of Joab (YHWH is father), Elhanan (God has been gracious) son of Dodo (his beloved) of Bethlehem (house of bread),

27 Shammoth (desolations) the Harorite (Shammah the Harodite), Helez (he has saved) the Pelonite (a certain one),

28 Ira (watchful of a city) son of Ikkesh (twisted) the Tekoite, Abiezer (my father is help) the Anathothite,

29 Sibbecai (weaver) the Hushathite, Ilai (exalted) the Ahohite (brother of rest),

30 Maharai (impetuous) the Netophathite, Heled (transient) son of Baanah (in affliction) the Netophathite,

31 Ithai (Ittai) son of Ribai (pleader with YHWH) from Gibeah (hill) of the Benjamites (son of the right hand), Benaiah (YHWH has built up) the Pirathonite,

32 Hurai (Hiddai) from the brooks (from the ravines) of Gaash (quaking), Abiel (Abi-albon) the Arbathite,
