1 Then I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, there was a man with a measuring cord in his hand. And I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand! Then I looked up, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2 So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is.” Then I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.” I asked, “Where are you going?” He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is.”
3 And behold, the angel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was coming out to meet him And behold, the angel who talked with me came forward, and another angel came forward to meet him While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him
4 and said to him, “Run, speak to that young man, saying, ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls because of the multitude of men and cattle within it. and said to him, “Run, say to that young man, ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of people and livestock in it. and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of people and animals in it.
5 Indeed I,’ declares Yahweh, ‘will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’” And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the LORD, and I will be the glory in her midst.’” And I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will be its glory within.’
6 “Ho there! Flee from the land of the north,” declares Yahweh, “for I have dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens,” declares Yahweh. Up! Up! Flee from the land of the north, declares the LORD. For I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, declares the LORD. “Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the LORD, “for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven,” declares the LORD.
7 “Woe, Zion! Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.” Up! Escape to Zion, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon. “Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Daughter Babylon!”
8 For thus says Yahweh of hosts, “After glory He has sent me against the nations which have taken you as spoil, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye. For thus said the LORD of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye: For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—
9 For behold, I will wave My hand over them so that they will be spoil for their slaves. Then you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent Me. “Behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall become plunder for those who served them. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me. I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me.
10 Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” declares Yahweh. Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the LORD. “Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the LORD.
11 “And many nations will join themselves to Yahweh in that day and will become My people. Then I will dwell in your midst, and you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent Me to you. And many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. “Many nations will be joined with the LORD in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you.
12 Then Yahweh will inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem. And the LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.” The LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.
13 “Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for He is aroused from His holy habitation.” Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling. Be still before the LORD, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.”
