9 Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God's wrath. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by his life? 12 So then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people because all sinned-- Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
13 for before the law was given, sin was in the world, but there is no accounting for sin when there is no law. for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law.
14 Yet death reigned from Adam until Moses even over those who did not sin in the same way that Adam (who is a type of the coming one) transgressed. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
15 But the gracious gift is not like the transgression. For if the many died through the transgression of the one man, how much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man Jesus Christ multiply to the many! But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
16 And the gift is not like the one who sinned. For judgment, resulting from the one transgression, led to condemnation, but the gracious gift from the many failures led to justification. And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.
17 For if, by the transgression of the one man, death reigned through the one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ! For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as condemnation for all people came through one transgression, so too through the one righteous act came righteousness leading to life for all people. Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous. For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 Now the law came in so that the transgression may increase, but where sin increased, grace multiplied all the more, Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
21 so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
