[A prayer by David.] Turn your ear [toward me], O LORD. Answer me, because I am oppressed and needy. Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. A prayer of David. Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Protect me, because I am faithful [to you]. Save your servant who trusts you. You are my God. Preserve my life, for I am godly; save your servant, who trusts in you—you are my God. Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God;
Have pity on me, O Lord, because I call out to you all day long. Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all the day. have mercy on me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.
Give me joy, O Lord, because I lift my soul to you. Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you.
You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, full of mercy toward everyone who calls out to you. For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.
Open your ears to my prayer, O LORD. Pay attention when I plead for mercy. Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace. Hear my prayer, LORD; listen to my cry for mercy.
When I am in trouble, I call out to you because you answer me. In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me. When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.
No god is like you, O Lord. No one can do what you do. There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.
All the nations that you have made will bow in your presence, O Lord. They will honor you. All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
Indeed, you are great, a worker of miracles. You alone are God. For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.
Teach me your way, O LORD, so that I may live in your truth. Focus my heart on fearing you. Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will give thanks to you with all my heart, O Lord my God. I will honor you forever I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
because your mercy toward me is great. You have rescued me from the depths of hell. For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.
O God, arrogant people attack me, and a mob of ruthless people seeks my life. They think nothing of you. O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them. Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me— they have no regard for you.
But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient, always faithful and ready to forgive. But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
Turn toward me, and have pity on me. Give me your strength because I am your servant. Save me because I am the son of your female servant. Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maidservant. Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.
Grant me some proof of your goodness so that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame. You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me. Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me. Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
