For the choir director. Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your name is near; Men recount Your wondrous deeds. We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds. For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A psalm of Asaph. A song. We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.
“For I select an appointed time, It is I who judge with equity. “At the set time that I appoint I will judge with equity. You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity.
The earth and all who dwell in it melt; It is I who have firmly set its pillars. Selah. When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants, it is I who keep steady its pillars. Selah When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm.
I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’ And to the wicked, ‘Do not raise up the horn; I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn; To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
Do not raise up your horn on high, Nor speak with insolent pride.’” do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with haughty neck.’” Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.’”
For one’s rising up does not come from the east, nor from the west, And not from the desert; For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up, No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves.
But God is the Judge; He puts down one and raises up another. but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.
For a cup is in the hand of Yahweh, and the wine foams; It is full of His mixture, and He pours from this; Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and drink down its dregs. For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed, and he pours out from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs. In the hand of the LORD is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs.
But as for me, I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. But I will declare it forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. As for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
And all the horns of the wicked I will cut off, But the horns of the righteous will be raised up. All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”
