Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God! Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate! Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars; he names all of them. He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Our Lord is great and has awesome power; there is no limit to his wisdom. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
The LORD lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground. The LORD lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground. The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
Offer to the LORD a song of thanks! Sing praises to our God to the accompaniment of a harp! Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre! Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.
He covers the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides. He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp. He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior's strong legs. His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love. but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.
For he makes the bars of your gates strong. He blesses your children within you. For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you. He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
He brings peace to your territory. He abundantly provides for you the best grain. He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat. He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
He sends his command through the earth; swiftly his order reaches its destination. He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
He sends the snow that is white like wool; he spreads the frost that is white like ashes. He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes. He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
He throws his hailstones like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends? He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs; who can stand before his cold? He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
He then orders it all to melt; he breathes on it, and the water flows. He sends out his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow and the waters flow. He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.
He proclaims his word to Jacob, his statutes and regulations to Israel. He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and rules to Israel. He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.
He has not done so with any other nation; they are not aware of his regulations. Praise the LORD! He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his rules. Praise the LORD! He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
