Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD. 2 Do not hide Your face from me in my day of distress. Incline Your ear to me; answer me quickly when I call. Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call! Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. Do not hide Your face from me on the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; On the day when I call answer me quickly. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.
For my days vanish like smoke, and my bones burn like glowing embers. For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace. For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. For my days have ended in smoke, And my bones have been scorched like a hearth. For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn like glowing embers.
My heart is afflicted, and withered like grass; I even forget to eat my bread. My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread. My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. My heart has been struck like grass and has withered, Indeed, I forget to eat my bread. My heart is blighted and withered like grass; I forget to eat my food.
Through my loud groaning my flesh clings to my bones. Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh. By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin. Because of the loudness of my groaning My bones cling to my flesh. In my distress I groan aloud and am reduced to skin and bones.
I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins. I am like a desert owl of the wilderness, like an owl of the waste places; I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. I resemble a pelican of the wilderness; I have become like an owl of the ruins. I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins.
I lie awake; I am like a lone bird on a housetop. I lie awake; I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop. I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top. I lie awake, I have become like a solitary bird on a housetop. I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof.
All day long my enemies taunt me; they ridicule me and curse me. All the day my enemies taunt me; those who deride me use my name for a curse. Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me. My enemies have taunted me all day long; Those who deride me have used my name as a curse. All day long my enemies taunt me; those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
For I have eaten ashes like bread and mixed my drink with tears For I eat ashes like bread and mingle tears with my drink, For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, For I have eaten ashes like bread, And mixed my drink with weeping For I eat ashes as my food and mingle my drink with tears
because of Your indignation and wrath, for You have picked me up and cast me aside. because of your indignation and anger; for you have taken me up and thrown me down. Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down. Because of Your indignation and Your wrath; For You have lifted me up and thrown me away. because of your great wrath, for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
My days are like lengthening shadows, and I wither away like grass. My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass. My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass. My days are like a lengthened shadow, And I wither away like grass. My days are like the evening shadow; I wither away like grass.
But You, O LORD, sit enthroned forever; Your renown endures to all generations. But you, O LORD, are enthroned forever; you are remembered throughout all generations. But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. But You, LORD, remain forever, And Your name remains to all generations. But you, LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations.
You will rise up and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show her favor the appointed time has come. You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come. Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. You will arise and have compassion on Zion; For it is time to be gracious to her, For the appointed time has come. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.
For Your servants delight in her stones and take pity on her dust. For your servants hold her stones dear and have pity on her dust. For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof. Surely Your servants take pleasure in her stones, And feel pity for her dust. For her stones are dear to your servants; her very dust moves them to pity.
So the nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory. Nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear your glory. So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. So the nations will fear the name of the LORD, And all the kings of the earth, Your glory. The nations will fear the name of the LORD, all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.

He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.
Let this be written for the generation to come, so that a people not yet created may praise the LORD. Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD: This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the LORD: Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:
For He looked down from the heights of His sanctuary; the LORD gazed out from heaven to earth that he looked down from his holy height; from heaven the LORD looked at the earth, For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; For He looked down from His holy height; From heaven the LORD looked upon the earth, “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth,

He has broken my strength in the way; He has shortened my days. In the course of my life he broke my strength; he cut short my days.
I say: “O my God, do not take me in the midst of my days! Your years go on through all generations. “O my God,” I say, “take me not away in the midst of my days— you whose years endure throughout all generations!” I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations. I say, “My God, do not take me away in the middle of my days, Your years are throughout all generations. So I said: “Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days; your years go on through all generations.
In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. “In time of old You founded the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing You will change them, and they will be passed on. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: “Even they will perish, but You endure; All of them will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them and they will pass away. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.
But You remain the same, and Your years will never end. but you are the same, and your years have no end. But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. “But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.
The children of Your servants will dwell securely, and their descendants will be established before You.” The children of your servants shall dwell secure; their offspring shall be established before you. The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee. “The children of Your servants will continue, And their descendants will be established before You.” The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you.”
