1 The LORD spoke to Moses, The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
2 “Command the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land of Canaan, it will be allotted to you as an inheritance with these borders: “Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders), “Command the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance is to have these boundaries:
3 Your southern side will be from the Wilderness of Zin along the boundary of Edom. Your southern border on the east will begin at the east end of the Dead Sea. your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east. “’Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin along the border of Edom. Your southern boundary will start in the east from the southern end of the Dead Sea,
4 Your border will turn south of the Scorpions’ Ascent, proceed to Zin, and end south of Kadesh-barnea. It will go to Hazar-addar and proceed to Azmon. And your border shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon. cross south of Scorpion Pass, continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon,
5 The border will turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, where it will end at the Mediterranean Sea. And the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea. where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt and end at the Mediterranean Sea.
6 Your western border will be the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea; this will be your western border. “For the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its coast. This shall be your western border. “’Your western boundary will be the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. This will be your boundary on the west.
7 This will be your northern border: From the Mediterranean Sea draw a line to Mount Hor; “This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor. “’For your northern boundary, run a line from the Mediterranean Sea to Mount Hor
8 from Mount Hor draw a line to the entrance of Hamath, and the border will reach Zedad. From Mount Hor you shall draw a line to Lebo-hamath, and the limit of the border shall be at Zedad. and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath. Then the boundary will go to Zedad,
9 Then the border will go to Ziphron and end at Hazar-enan. This will be your northern border. Then the border shall extend to Ziphron, and its limit shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border. continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on the north.
10 For your eastern border, draw a line from Hazar-enan to Shepham. “You shall draw a line for your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham. “’For your eastern boundary, run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham.
11 The border will go down from Shepham to Riblah east of Ain. It will continue down and reach the eastern slope of the Sea of Chinnereth. And the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth on the east. The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Galilee.
12 Then the border will go down to the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea. This will be your land defined by its borders on all sides.” And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limit shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land as defined by its borders all around.” Then the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea. “’This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side.’”
13 So Moses commanded the Israelites, “This is the land you are to receive by lot as an inheritance, which the LORD commanded to be given to the nine and a half tribes. Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, “This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe. Moses commanded the Israelites: “Assign this land by lot as an inheritance. The LORD has ordered that it be given to the nine-and-a-half tribes,
14 For the tribe of Reuben’s descendants and the tribe of Gad’s descendants have received their inheritance according to their ancestral families, and half the tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance. For the tribe of the people of Reuben by fathers’ houses and the tribe of the people of Gad by their fathers’ houses have received their inheritance, and also the half-tribe of Manasseh. because the families of the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.
15 The two and a half tribes have received their inheritance across the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise.” The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise.” These two-and-a-half tribes have received their inheritance east of the Jordan across from Jericho, toward the sunrise.”

17 “These are the names of the men who are to distribute the land as an inheritance for you: the priest Eleazar and Joshua son of Nun. “These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun. “These are the names of the men who are to assign the land for you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.
18 Take one leader from each tribe to distribute the land. You shall take one chief from every tribe to divide the land for inheritance. And appoint one leader from each tribe to help assign the land.
19 These are the names of the men: Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah; These are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. These are their names: Caleb son of Jephunneh, from the tribe of Judah;
20 Shemuel son of Ammihud from the tribe of Simeon’s descendants; Of the tribe of the people of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. Shemuel son of Ammihud, from the tribe of Simeon;
21 Elidad son of Chislon from the tribe of Benjamin; Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon. Elidad son of Kislon, from the tribe of Benjamin;
22 Bukki son of Jogli, a leader from the tribe of Dan’s descendants; Of the tribe of the people of Dan a chief, Bukki the son of Jogli. Bukki son of Jogli, the leader from the tribe of Dan;
23 from the sons of Joseph: Hanniel son of Ephod, a leader from the tribe of Manasseh’s descendants, Of the people of Joseph: of the tribe of the people of Manasseh a chief, Hanniel the son of Ephod. Hanniel son of Ephod, the leader from the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph;
24 Kemuel son of Shiphtan, a leader from the tribe of Ephraim’s descendants; And of the tribe of the people of Ephraim a chief, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan. Kemuel son of Shiphtan, the leader from the tribe of Ephraim son of Joseph;
25 Eli-zaphan son of Parnach, a leader from the tribe of Zebulun’s descendants; Of the tribe of the people of Zebulun a chief, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. Elizaphan son of Parnak, the leader from the tribe of Zebulun;
26 Paltiel son of Azzan, a leader from the tribe of Issachar’s descendants; Of the tribe of the people of Issachar a chief, Paltiel the son of Azzan. Paltiel son of Azzan, the leader from the tribe of Issachar;
27 Ahihud son of Shelomi, a leader from the tribe of Asher’s descendants; And of the tribe of the people of Asher a chief, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. Ahihud son of Shelomi, the leader from the tribe of Asher;
28 Pedahel son of Ammihud, a leader from the tribe of Naphtali’s descendants.” Of the tribe of the people of Naphtali a chief, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.” Pedahel son of Ammihud, the leader from the tribe of Naphtali.”
29 These are the ones the LORD commanded to distribute the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan. These are the men whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan. These are the men the LORD commanded to assign the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
