Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.” She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel,” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.” “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself; When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
and didn’t know her sexually until she had given birth to her firstborn son. He named him Jesus. but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus. But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
