1 And all the assembly of the sons of Israel will be called together to Shiloh, and they will pitch there the tent of appointment, and the land was subdued before them. Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them. The whole assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The country was brought under their control,
2 And there will remain among the sons of Israel to whom they distributed not their inheritance, seven tribes. There remained among the people of Israel seven tribes whose inheritance had not yet been apportioned. but there were still seven Israelite tribes who had not yet received their inheritance.
3 And Joshua will say to the sons of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land which Jehovah the God of your fathers gave to you? So Joshua said to the people of Israel, “How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you? So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your ancestors, has given you?
4 Give to you three men for a tribe, and I will send them, and they shall rise and shall go through the land, and they shall write it according to their inheritance, and they shall come to me. Provide three men from each tribe, and I will send them out that they may set out and go up and down the land. They shall write a description of it with a view to their inheritances, and then come to me. Appoint three men from each tribe. I will send them out to make a survey of the land and to write a description of it, according to the inheritance of each. Then they will return to me.
5 And they divided it into seven portions: Judah shall stand upon his bound from the south, and the house of Joseph shall stand upon their bound from the north. They shall divide it into seven portions. Judah shall continue in his territory on the south, and the house of Joseph shall continue in their territory on the north. You are to divide the land into seven parts. Judah is to remain in its territory on the south and the tribes of Joseph in their territory on the north.
6 And ye shall write the land seven portions and bring to me hither, and I will cast the lot for you here before Jehovah our God. And you shall describe the land in seven divisions and bring the description here to me. And I will cast lots for you here before the LORD our God. After you have written descriptions of the seven parts of the land, bring them here to me and I will cast lots for you in the presence of the LORD our God.
7 But not a portion to the Levites in the midst of you; for the priesthood of Jehovah their inheritance: and Gad and Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh took their inheritance from beyond Jordan from the sunrising, which Moses gave to them, the servant of Jehovah. The Levites have no portion among you, for the priesthood of the LORD is their heritage. And Gad and Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.” The Levites, however, do not get a portion among you, because the priestly service of the LORD is their inheritance. And Gad, Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan. Moses the servant of the LORD gave it to them.”
8 And the men will rise and will go: and Joshua commanded those going to write the land, saying, Go, and go ye through the land and write it, and turn back to me, and here I will cast for you the lot before Jehovah in Shiloh. So the men arose and went, and Joshua charged those who went to write the description of the land, saying, “Go up and down in the land and write a description and return to me. And I will cast lots for you here before the LORD in Shiloh.” As the men started on their way to map out the land, Joshua instructed them, “Go and make a survey of the land and write a description of it. Then return to me, and I will cast lots for you here at Shiloh in the presence of the LORD.”
9 And the men will go and will pass over In the land, and will write it by cities into seven parts, upon a book; and they will come to Joshua to the camp of Shiloh. So the men went and passed up and down in the land and wrote in a book a description of it by towns in seven divisions. Then they came to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh, So the men left and went through the land. They wrote its description on a scroll, town by town, in seven parts, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh.
10 And Joshua will cast the lot to them in Shiloh before Jehovah: and Joshua will there divide the land to the sons of Israel according to their divisions. and Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD. And there Joshua apportioned the land to the people of Israel, to each his portion. Joshua then cast lots for them in Shiloh in the presence of the LORD, and there he distributed the land to the Israelites according to their tribal divisions.
11 And the lot of the tribe of Benjamin will come up according to their families: and the bound of their lot will come forth between the sons of Judah and between the sons of Joseph. The lot of the tribe of the people of Benjamin according to its clans came up, and the territory allotted to it fell between the people of Judah and the people of Joseph. The first lot came up for the tribe of Benjamin according to its clans. Their allotted territory lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph:
12 And the bound will be to them to the north side from Jordan; and the bound went up to the side of Jericho from the north, and went up into the mountain to the sea; and its goings-out were from the desert of the House of Vanity. On the north side their boundary began at the Jordan. Then the boundary goes up to the shoulder north of Jericho, then up through the hill country westward, and it ends at the wilderness of Beth-aven. On the north side their boundary began at the Jordan, passed the northern slope of Jericho and headed west into the hill country, coming out at the wilderness of Beth Aven.
13 And the bound passed through from thence to Luz to the shoulder of Luz, south: (this is the House of God) and the bound went down to Ataroth-Adar, upon the mountain which is from the south to the House of the Hollow, below. From there the boundary passes along southward in the direction of Luz, to the shoulder of Luz (that is, Bethel), then the boundary goes down to Ataroth-addar, on the mountain that lies south of Lower Beth-horon. From there it crossed to the south slope of Luz (that is, Bethel) and went down to Ataroth Addar on the hill south of Lower Beth Horon.
14 And the bound was marked out, and encompassed to the side of the sea, south, from the mountain which is upon the face of the House of the Hollow, south; and its goings-out were at the city of Baal (this is the City of the Forests) the city of the sons of Judah. This is the side of the sea. Then the boundary goes in another direction, turning on the western side southward from the mountain that lies to the south, opposite Beth-horon, and it ends at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city belonging to the people of Judah. This forms the western side. From the hill facing Beth Horon on the south the boundary turned south along the western side and came out at Kiriath Baal (that is, Kiriath Jearim), a town of the people of Judah. This was the western side.
15 And the south side from the extremity of the City of Forests, and the bound went out to the sea, and went out to the fountain of water of Neptitoah: And the southern side begins at the outskirts of Kiriath-jearim. And the boundary goes from there to Ephron, to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah. The southern side began at the outskirts of Kiriath Jearim on the west, and the boundary came out at the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.
16 And the bound went down to the extremity of the mountain which is upon the face of the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the valley of Rephaim, north, and went down to the valley of Hinnom to the shoulder of Jebusi south, to En-Rogel. Then the boundary goes down to the border of the mountain that overlooks the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is at the north end of the Valley of Rephaim. And it then goes down the Valley of Hinnom, south of the shoulder of the Jebusites, and downward to En-rogel. The boundary went down to the foot of the hill facing the Valley of Ben Hinnom, north of the Valley of Rephaim. It continued down the Hinnom Valley along the southern slope of the Jebusite city and so to En Rogel.
17 And it was marked out from the north, and went down to the Fountain of the Sun, and went out to Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim, and went down to the stone of Bohan, son of Reuben. Then it bends in a northerly direction going on to En-shemesh, and from there goes to Geliloth, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim. Then it goes down to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben, It then curved north, went to En Shemesh, continued to Geliloth, which faces the Pass of Adummim, and ran down to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.
18 And it passed over to the shoulder of the front of the desert north, and came down to Araboth. and passing on to the north of the shoulder of Beth-arabah it goes down to the Arabah. It continued to the northern slope of Beth Arabah and on down into the Arabah.
19 And the bound passed over to the shoulder of the Partridge House north, and its outgoings of the bound were at the tongue of the salt sea north, to the extremity of Jordan south: this the south bound. Then the boundary passes on to the north of the shoulder of Beth-hoglah. And the boundary ends at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan: this is the southern border. It then went to the northern slope of Beth Hoglah and came out at the northern bay of the Dead Sea, at the mouth of the Jordan in the south. This was the southern boundary.
20 And Jordan will bound it to the east side: this the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin for its bounds round about according to their families. The Jordan forms its boundary on the eastern side. This is the inheritance of the people of Benjamin, according to their clans, boundary by boundary all around. The Jordan formed the boundary on the eastern side. These were the boundaries that marked out the inheritance of the clans of Benjamin on all sides.
21 And the cities to the tribe of the sons of Benjamin according to their families, were Jericho, and the Partridge House, and the valley of Keziz, Now the cities of the tribe of the people of Benjamin according to their clans were Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz, The tribe of Benjamin, according to its clans, had the following towns: Jericho, Beth Hoglah, Emek Keziz,
22 And the House of the Desert, and Zemaraim, and the House of God, Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel, Beth Arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,
23 And Avim and Parah, and Ophrah, Avvim, Parah, Ophrah, Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,
24 Chephar-Haammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities and their enclosures: Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, Geba—twelve cities with their villages: Kephar Ammoni, Ophni and Geba—twelve towns and their villages.
25 Gibeon and Ramah and Beeroth, Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth, Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,
26 And Mizpeh and Chephirah, and Mozah, Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah, Mizpah, Kephirah, Mozah,

28 And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, (this is Jerusalem) Gibeah city; fourteen cities and their enclosures. This the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families. Zela, Haeleph, Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah and Kiriath-jearim—fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the people of Benjamin according to its clans. Zelah, Haeleph, the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah and Kiriath—fourteen towns and their villages. This was the inheritance of Benjamin for its clans.
