4 ἐγείρεται ἐκ τοῦ δείπνου καὶ τίθησιν τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ λαβὼν λέντιον διέζωσεν ἑαυτόν rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.
5 εἶτα βάλλει ὕδωρ εἰς τὸν νιπτῆρα καὶ ἤρξατο νίπτειν τοὺς πόδας τῶν μαθητῶν καὶ ἐκμάσσειν τῷ λεντίῳ ᾧ ἦν διεζωσμένος Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
