1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day God created man, in the likeness of God He made him. This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. This is the written account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.
2 Male and female He created them, and He blessed them and called their name “Man,” in the day they were created. Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created. He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.
3 And Adam lived thirty and a hundred years, and he begat a son in his own likeness, after his image, and he called his name Seth. When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.
4 And the days of Adam after his begetting Seth were eight hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters. After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
5 And all the days of Adam that he lived were nine hundred years and thirty years, and he died. Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
6 And Seth lived five years and a hundred years, and he begat Enosh. When Seth had lived 105 years, he fathered Enosh. When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh.
7 And Seth lived after his begetting Enosh seven years and eight hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Seth lived after he fathered Enosh 807 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
8 And all the days of Seth were two and ten years and nine hundred years, and he died. Thus all the days of Seth were 912 years, and he died. Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
9 And Enosh lived ninety years, and he begat Cainan. When Enosh had lived 90 years, he fathered Kenan. When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.
10 And Enosh lived after his begetting Cainan five and ten years and eight hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Enosh lived after he fathered Kenan 815 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.
11 And all the days of Enosh were five years nine hundred years, and he died. Thus all the days of Enosh were 905 years, and he died. Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
12 And Cainan lived seventy years, and he begat Mahalalel. When Kenan had lived 70 years, he fathered Mahalalel. When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.
13 And Cainan lived after his begetting Mahalalel forty years and eight hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Kenan lived after he fathered Mahalalel 840 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
14 And all the days of Cainan were ten years and nine hundred years, and he died. Thus all the days of Kenan were 910 years, and he died. Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.
15 And Mahalalel lived five years and sixty years, and he begat Jared. When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared. When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.
16 And Mahalalel lived after his begetting Jared thirty years and eight hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Mahalalel lived after he fathered Jared 830 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.
17 And all the days of Mahalalel were five and ninety years and eight hundred years, and he died. Thus all the days of Mahalalel were 895 years, and he died. Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.
18 And Jared lived two and sixty years and a hundred years, and he begat Enoch. When Jared had lived 162 years, he fathered Enoch. When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.
19 And Jared lived after his begetting Enoch eight hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Jared lived after he fathered Enoch 800 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
20 And all the days of Jared were two and sixty years and nine hundred years, and he died. Thus all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died. Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.
21 And Enoch lived five and sixty years, and he begat Methuselah. When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.
22 And Enoch walked with God after his begetting Methuselah three hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
23 And all the days of Enoch were five and sixty years and three hundred years. Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.
24 And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more, for God had taken him. Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
25 And Methuselah lived seven and eighty years and a hundred years, and he begat Lamech. When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech. When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.
26 And Methuselah lived after his begetting Lamech two and eighty years and seven hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech 782 years and had other sons and daughters. After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine and sixty years and nine hundred years, and he died. Thus all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died. Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
28 And Lamech lived two and eighty years and a hundred years, and he begat a son. When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son.
29 And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one shall give us comfort from our work and from the toil of our hands on account of the ground that YHWH has cursed.” and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the LORD has cursed, this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.” He named him Noah and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed.”
30 And Lamech lived after his begetting Noah five and ninety years and five hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters. Lamech lived after he fathered Noah 595 years and had other sons and daughters. After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
31 And all the days of Lamech were seven and seventy years and seven hundred years, and he died. Thus all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died. Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
32 Noah was a son of five hundred years, and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. After Noah was 500 years old, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth. After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.
