1 For this cause, I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ, for you Gentiles; For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles— For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—
2 If yet you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me towards you: assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you,
3 How that, according to revelation, the mystery has been made known to me, as I have written above in a few words; how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.
4 As you reading, may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ, When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
5 Which in other generations was not known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit: which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.
6 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and co-partners of his promise in Christ Jesus, by the gospel: This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
7 Of which I am made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God, which is given to me according to the operation of his power: Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.
8 To me, the least of all the saints, is given this grace, to preach among the Gentiles, the unsearchable riches of Christ, To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ,
9 And to enlighten all men, that they may see what is the dispensation of the mystery which hath been hidden from eternity in God, who created all things: and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
10 That the manifold wisdom of God may be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places through the church, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
11 According to the eternal purpose, which he made, in Christ Jesus our Lord: This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
13 Wherefore I pray you not to faint at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory. I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.
14 For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, For this reason I kneel before the Father,
15 Of whom all paternity in heaven and earth is named, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened by his Spirit with might unto the inward man, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
17 That Christ may dwell by faith in your hearts; that being rooted and founded in charity, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
18 You may be able to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth, and length, and height, and depth: may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
19 To know also the charity of Christ, which surpasseth all knowledge, that you may be filled unto all the fulness of God. and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do all things more abundantly than we desire or understand, according to the power that worketh in us; Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
21 To him be glory in the church, and in Christ Jesus unto all generations, world without end. Amen. to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
