1 And it happened that after having drawn away from them, having run directly in our sailing, we came to Cos, and the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara. And when we had parted from them and set sail, we came by a straight course to Cos, and the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara. After we had torn ourselves away from them, we put out to sea and sailed straight to Kos. The next day we went to Rhodes and from there to Patara.
2 And having found a boat passing over into Phoenicia, having gone aboard, we set sail. And having found a ship crossing to Phoenicia, we went aboard and set sail. We found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, went on board and set sail.
3 And having sighted Cyprus and having left it on the left, we kept sailing to Syria and landed at Tyre, for the ship was unloading the cargo there. When we had come in sight of Cyprus, leaving it on the left we sailed to Syria and landed at Tyre, for there the ship was to unload its cargo. After sighting Cyprus and passing to the south of it, we sailed on to Syria. We landed at Tyre, where our ship was to unload its cargo.
4 And we remained there seven days, having sought out the disciples, who kept saying to Paul through the Spirit not to go up to Jerusalem. And having sought out the disciples, we stayed there for seven days. And through the Spirit they were telling Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. We sought out the disciples there and stayed with them seven days. Through the Spirit they urged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.
5 And it happened that when we had completed the days, having gone out, we journeyed, all accompanying us, with wives and children, as far as outside the city. And having bowed the knees on the shore, having prayed, When our days there were ended, we departed and went on our journey, and they all, with wives and children, accompanied us until we were outside the city. And kneeling down on the beach, we prayed When it was time to leave, we left and continued on our way. All of them, including wives and children, accompanied us out of the city, and there on the beach we knelt to pray.
6 having said farewell to one another, we then went up into the boat, and they returned to their own. and said farewell to one another. Then we went on board the ship, and they returned home. After saying goodbye to each other, we went aboard the ship, and they returned home.
7 And having completed the voyage from Tyre, we came down to Ptolemais; and having greeted the brothers, we stayed one day with them. When we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and we greeted the brothers and stayed with them for one day. We continued our voyage from Tyre and landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and sisters and stayed with them for a day.
8 And having gone out on the next day, we came to Caesarea; and having entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, being of the Seven, we stayed with him. On the next day we departed and came to Caesarea, and we entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him. Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven.
9 And with this man there were four daughters, virgins, prophesying. He had four unmarried daughters, who prophesied. He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.
10 And in our remaining many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. While we were staying for many days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
11 And having come to us and having taken Paul’s belt, having bound his feet and hands, he said, “Thus the Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man whose belt this is, and they will deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” And coming to us, he took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”
12 And when we had heard these things, both we and those of that place were begging him not to go up to Jerusalem. When we heard this, we and the people there urged him not to go up to Jerusalem. When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 Then Paul answered, “What are you⁺ doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I have readiness not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
14 And he not being persuaded, we were silent, having said, “The will of the Lord be done.” And since he would not be persuaded, we ceased and said, “Let the will of the Lord be done.” When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”
