| 1I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs. | 1A psalm of David. I will sing about loyalty and justice! To you, O LORD, I will sing praises! |
| 2I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. | 2I will walk in the way of integrity. When will you come to me? I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace. |
| 3I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. | 3I will not even consider doing what is dishonest. I hate doing evil; I will have no part of it. |
| 4I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. | 4I will have nothing to do with a perverse person; I will not permit evil. |
| 5I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. | 5I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret. I will not tolerate anyone who has a cocky demeanor and an arrogant attitude. |
| 6I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. | 6I will favor the honest people of the land, and allow them to live with me. Those who walk in the way of integrity will attend me. |
| 7I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. | 7Deceitful people will not live in my palace. Liars will not be welcome in my presence. |
| 8My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip. | 8Each morning I will destroy all the wicked people in the land, and remove all evildoers from the city of the LORD. |
