New Living Translation | Holman Christian Standard Bible |
I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs. | 1A Davidic psalm. I will sing of faithful love and justice; I will sing praise to You, LORD. |
I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. | 2I will pay attention to the way of integrity. When will You come to me? I will live with a heart of integrity in my house. |
I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. | 3I will not set anything worthless before my eyes. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me. |
I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. | 4A devious heart will be far from me; I will not be involved with evil. |
I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. | 5I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor; I cannot tolerate anyone with haughty eyes or an arrogant heart. |
I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. | 6My eyes favor the faithful of the land so that they may sit down with me. The one who follows the way of integrity may serve me. |
I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. | 7No one who acts deceitfully will live in my palace; no one who tells lies will remain in my presence. |
My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip. | 8Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, eliminating all evildoers from the LORD's city. |
