New Living Translation | King James Bible |
Come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. | 1O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. |
Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. | 2Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. |
For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods. | 3For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. |
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. | 4In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. |
The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. | 5The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. |
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, | 6O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. |
for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! | 7For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, |
The LORD says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness. | 8Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: |
For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw everything I did. | 9When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. |
For forty years I was angry with them, and I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’ | 10Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: |
So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’” | 11Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. |
