Psalm 82
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
1God presides over heaven’s court; he pronounces judgment on the heavenly beings:1 God takes his stand in the divine assembly; among the divine beings he renders judgment:
2“How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked? Interlude2"How long will you judge partially by showing favor on the wicked? Interlude
3“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.3"Defend the poor and the fatherless. Vindicate the afflicted and the poor.
4Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people.4Rescue the poor and the needy, delivering them from the power of the wicked.
5But these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core.5They neither know nor understand; they walk about in the dark while all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6I say, ‘You are gods; you are all children of the Most High.6"Indeed I said, 'You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.
7But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.’”7However, as all human beings do, you will die, and like other rulers, you will fall.'
8Rise up, O God, and judge the earth, for all the nations belong to you.8Arise, God, to judge the earth, for all nations belong to you.
