| 1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. | 1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. |

| 3I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. | 6And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. I will freely give to the thirsty from the spring of the water of life. |
| 7All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. | 7The one who conquers will inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he will be my son. |
| 8“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” | 8But the cowards, faithless, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars--their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." |

| 24The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory. | 24The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. |
| 25Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there. | 25Its gates will never close by day because it will never be night there. |
| 26And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city. | 26They will bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. |
| 27Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. | 27Nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those written in the Lamb's book of life. |
