New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.1This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.2Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created.
And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.3When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.
After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.4The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters.
So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.5Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died.
Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh.6When Seth had lived 105 years, he fathered Enosh.
After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters.7Seth lived after he fathered Enosh 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.8Thus all the days of Seth were 912 years, and he died.
Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan.9When Enosh had lived 90 years, he fathered Kenan.
After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters.10Enosh lived after he fathered Kenan 815 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.11Thus all the days of Enosh were 905 years, and he died.
Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.12When Kenan had lived 70 years, he fathered Mahalalel.
After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters.13Kenan lived after he fathered Mahalalel 840 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.14Thus all the days of Kenan were 910 years, and he died.
Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared.15When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared.
After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters.16Mahalalel lived after he fathered Jared 830 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.17Thus all the days of Mahalalel were 895 years, and he died.
Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch.18When Jared had lived 162 years, he fathered Enoch.
After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters.19Jared lived after he fathered Enoch 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.20Thus all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died.
Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah.21When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah.
After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.22Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.23Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years.
And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.24Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech.25When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech.
After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters.26Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.27Thus all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died.
Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son.28When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son
And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed.”29and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the LORD has cursed, this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.”
After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters.30Lamech lived after he fathered Noah 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.31Thus all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.32After Noah was 500 years old, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
