Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also:1Now about the collection for the saints: Do the same as I instructed the Galatian churches.
On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.2On the first day of the week, each of you is to set something aside and save in keeping with how he is prospering, so that no collections will need to be made when I come.
And when I come, whomever you approve by your letters I will send to bear your gift to Jerusalem.3When I arrive, I will send with letters those you recommend to carry your gift to Jerusalem.
But if it is fitting that I go also, they will go with me.4If it is suitable for me to go as well, they will travel with me.
Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia (for I am passing through Macedonia).5I will come to you after I pass through Macedonia--for I will be traveling through Macedonia--
And it may be that I will remain, or even spend the winter with you, that you may send me on my journey, wherever I go.6and perhaps I will remain with you or even spend the winter, so that you may send me on my way wherever I go.
For I do not wish to see you now on the way; but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits.7I don't want to see you now just in passing, since I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows.
But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.8But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,
For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.9because a wide door for effective ministry has opened for me--yet many oppose me.
And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.10If Timothy comes, see that he has nothing to fear while with you, because he is doing the Lord's work, just as I am.
Therefore let no one despise him. But send him on his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I am waiting for him with the brethren.11So let no one look down on him. Send him on his way in peace so that he can come to me, because I am expecting him with the brothers.
Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to come to you with the brethren, but he was quite unwilling to come at this time; however, he will come when he has a convenient time.12Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, but he was not at all willing to come now. However, he will come when he has an opportunity.
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.13Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.
Let all that you do be done with love.14Do everything in love.
I urge you, brethren—you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints—15Brothers and sisters, you know the household of Stephanas: They are the firstfruits of Achaia and have devoted themselves to serving the saints. I urge you
that you also submit to such, and to everyone who works and labors with us.16also to submit to such people, and to everyone who works and labors with them.
I am glad about the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, for what was lacking on your part they supplied.17I am delighted to have Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus present, because these men have made up for your absence.
For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.18For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore recognize such people.
The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.19The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla send you greetings warmly in the Lord, along with the church that meets in their home.
All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.20All the brothers and sisters send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
The salutation with my own hand—Paul’s.21This greeting is in my own hand--Paul.
If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!22If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.24My love be with all of you in Christ Jesus.
