| 1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. | 1Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, |
| 2For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. | 2even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. |
| 3Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. | 3"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. |
| 4I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. | 4"I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. |
| 5And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. | 5"Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. |
| 6"I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. | 6"I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. |
| 7Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. | 7"Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; |
| 8For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. | 8for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. |
| 9I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. | 9"I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; |
| 10All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. | 10and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them. |
| 11I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. | 11"I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. |
| 12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. | 12"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. |
| 13"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. | 13"But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. |
| 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. | 14"I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. |
| 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. | 15"I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. |

| 17Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. | 17"Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. |

| 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. | 19"For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. |
| 20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, | 20"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; |
| 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. | 21that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. |
| 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one-- | 22"The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; |
| 23I in them and you in me--so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. | 23I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. |
| 24"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. | 24"Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. |

| 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." | 26and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." |
