New International VersionBerean Study Bible
For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?1For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?2How long must I wrestle in my soul, with sorrow in my heart each day? How long will my enemy dominate me?
Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,3Consider me and respond, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall.4lest my enemy say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.5But I have trusted in Your loving devotion; my heart will rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing the LORD's praise, for he has been good to me.6I will sing to the LORD, for He has been good to me.
