Psalm 6
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
1For the music director, to be accompanied by stringed instruments, according to the sheminith style; a psalm of David. LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger! Do not discipline me in your raging fury! 1O LORD, don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage.
2Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am frail! Heal me, LORD, for my bones are shaking! 2Have compassion on me, LORD, for I am weak. Heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony.
3I am absolutely terrified, and you, LORD--how long will this continue? 3I am sick at heart. How long, O LORD, until you restore me?
4Relent, LORD, rescue me! Deliver me because of your faithfulness! 4Return, O LORD, and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love.
5For no one remembers you in the realm of death, In Sheol who gives you thanks? 5For the dead do not remember you. Who can praise you from the grave?
6I am exhausted as I groan; all night long I drench my bed in tears; my tears saturate the cushion beneath me. 6I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears.
7My eyes grow dim from suffering; they grow weak because of all my enemies. 7My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies.
8Turn back from me, all you who behave wickedly, for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping! 8Go away, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping.
9The LORD has heard my appeal for mercy; the LORD has accepted my prayer. 9The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD will answer my prayer.
10May all my enemies be humiliated and absolutely terrified! May they turn back and be suddenly humiliated! 10May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified. May they suddenly turn back in shame.
