Psalm 6
NASB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New Living Translation
1For the choir director; with stringed instruments, upon an eight-string lyre. A Psalm of David. O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your wrath.1O LORD, don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage.
2Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am pining away; Heal me, O LORD, for my bones are dismayed.2Have compassion on me, LORD, for I am weak. Heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony.
3And my soul is greatly dismayed; But You, O LORD-- how long?3I am sick at heart. How long, O LORD, until you restore me?
4Return, O LORD, rescue my soul; Save me because of Your lovingkindness.4Return, O LORD, and rescue me. Save me because of your unfailing love.
5For there is no mention of You in death; In Sheol who will give You thanks?5For the dead do not remember you. Who can praise you from the grave?
6I am weary with my sighing; Every night I make my bed swim, I dissolve my couch with my tears.6I am worn out from sobbing. All night I flood my bed with weeping, drenching it with my tears.
7My eye has wasted away with grief; It has become old because of all my adversaries.7My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies.
8Depart from me, all you who do iniquity, For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.8Go away, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping.
9The LORD has heard my supplication, The LORD receives my prayer.9The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD will answer my prayer.
10All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed; They shall turn back, they will suddenly be ashamed.10May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified. May they suddenly turn back in shame.
