NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
"At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.1At this also my heart pounds and leaps from its place.
"Listen closely to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.2Listen carefully to the thunder of his voice, to the rumbling that proceeds from his mouth.
"Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning to the ends of the earth.3Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners of the earth.
"After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.4After that a voice roars; he thunders with an exalted voice, and he does not hold back his lightning bolts when his voice is heard.
"God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.5God thunders with his voice in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.
"For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth,' And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.'6For to the snow he says, 'Fall to earth,' and to the torrential rains, 'Pour down.'
"He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.7He causes everyone to stop working, so that all people may know his work.
"Then the beast goes into its lair And remains in its den.8The wild animals go to their lairs, and in their dens they remain.
"Out of the south comes the storm, And out of the north the cold.9A tempest blows out from its chamber, icy cold from the driving winds.
"From the breath of God ice is made, And the expanse of the waters is frozen.10The breath of God produces ice, and the breadth of the waters freeze solid.
"Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.11He loads the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through the clouds.
"It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, That it may do whatever He commands it On the face of the inhabited earth.12The clouds go round in circles, wheeling about according to his plans, to carry out all that he commands them over the face of the whole inhabited world.
"Whether for correction, or for His world, Or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen.13Whether it is for punishment for his land, or whether it is for mercy, he causes it to find its mark.
"Listen to this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.14"Pay attention to this, Job! Stand still and consider the wonders God works.
"Do you know how God establishes them, And makes the lightning of His cloud to shine?15Do you know how God commands them, how he makes lightning flash in his storm cloud?
"Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds, The wonders of one perfect in knowledge,16Do you know about the balancing of the clouds, that wondrous activity of him who is perfect in knowledge?
You whose garments are hot, When the land is still because of the south wind?17You, whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind,
"Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a molten mirror?18will you, with him, spread out the clouds, solid as a mirror of molten metal?
"Teach us what we shall say to Him; We cannot arrange our case because of darkness.19Tell us what we should say to him. We cannot prepare a case because of the darkness.
"Shall it be told Him that I would speak? Or should a man say that he would be swallowed up?20Should he be informed that I want to speak? If a man speaks, surely he would be swallowed up!
"Now men do not see the light which is bright in the skies; But the wind has passed and cleared them.21But now, the sun cannot be looked at--it is bright in the skies--after a wind passed and swept the clouds away.
"Out of the north comes golden splendor; Around God is awesome majesty.22From the north he comes in golden splendor; around God is awesome majesty.
"The Almighty-- we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness.23As for the Almighty, we cannot attain to him! He is great in power, but justice and abundant righteousness he does not oppress.
"Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart."24Therefore people fear him, for he does not regard all the wise in heart."
