Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant and praise is becoming.1Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel.2The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.3He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them.4He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.5Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
The LORD supports the afflicted; He brings down the wicked to the ground.6The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; Sing praises to our God on the lyre,7Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who provides rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.8Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens which cry.9He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He does not take pleasure in the legs of a man.10He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
The LORD favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness.11The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your sons within you.13For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
He makes peace in your borders; He satisfies you with the finest of the wheat.14He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
He sends forth His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.15He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes.16He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
He casts forth His ice as fragments; Who can stand before His cold?17He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
He sends forth His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.18He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
He declares His words to Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances to Israel.19He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Praise the LORD!20He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
