King James BibleNew International Version
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God's holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.2Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,5he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will--
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace
Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;8that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:9he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:10to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment--to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:11In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,
That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.12in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,15For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people,
Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;16I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:17I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,18I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,19and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,20he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,22And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
