| 3May they praise his name with dancing, chanting songs to him with tambourines and lyres. | 3Let them praise his name with dancing! Let them sing praises to him to the accompaniment of the tambourine and harp! |
| 4For the LORD is pleased with his people; he beautifies the afflicted with salvation. | 4For the LORD takes delight in his people; he exalts the oppressed by delivering them. |
| 5May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches. | 5Let the godly rejoice because of their vindication! Let them shout for joy upon their beds! |

| 7as they bring retribution to nations and punishment to peoples, | 7in order to take revenge on the nations, and punish foreigners. |
