International Standard VersionKing James Bible
LORD, I have so many persecutors! Many are rising up against me!1A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
Many are saying about me, "God will never deliver him!" Interlude2Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.3But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
I cry aloud to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain. Interlude4I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
I lie down and sleep, I wake up, because the LORD sustains me.5I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
I will not fear multitudes of people, who set themselves against me on every side.6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! For you strike the jaw of all my enemies, and you break the teeth of the wicked.7Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
Deliverance comes from the LORD! May your blessing be on your people. Interlude8Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
