ISV Parallel HCSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
When I call, answer me, my righteous God! When I was in distress, you set me free. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.1For the choir director: with stringed instruments. A Davidic psalm. Answer me when I call, God, who vindicates me. You freed me from affliction; be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
You people, how long will you malign my reputation? How long will you love what is vain and what is false? Interlude2How long, exalted men, will my honor be insulted? How long will you love what is worthless and pursue a lie? Selah
But understand this: the LORD has set apart the godly for himself! The LORD will hear me when I cry out to him!3Know that the LORD has set apart the faithful for Himself; the LORD will hear when I call to Him.
Be angry, yet do not sin. Think about this when upon your beds, and be silent. Interlude4Be angry and do not sin; on your bed, reflect in your heart and be still. Selah
Offer sacrifices that are righteous, and put your confidence in the LORD.5Offer sacrifices in righteousness and trust in the LORD.
Many are asking, "Who will help us to see better days?" LORD, may the light of your favor shine upon us.6Many are saying, "Who can show us anything good?" Look on us with favor, LORD.
You have given me more joy in my heart than at harvest times, when grain and wine abound.7You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and new wine abound.
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, LORD, enable me to live securely.8I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, LORD, make me live in safety.
