An oracle that came to me about the transgressions of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes. | 1Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. |
He flatters himself too much to discover his transgression and hate it. | 2For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated. |
The words from his mouth are vain and deceptive. He has abandoned behaving wisely and doing good. | 3The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good. |
He devises iniquity on his bed and is determined to follow a path that is not good. He does not resist evil. | 4He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil. |
Your gracious love, LORD, reaches to the heavens; your truth extends to the skies. | 5Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. |
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your justice is like the great depths of the sea. You deliver both people and animals, LORD. | 6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are like the great deep; man and beast you save, O LORD. |
How precious is your gracious love, God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings. | 7How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. |
They are refreshed from the abundance of your house; You cause them to drink from the river of your pleasures. | 8They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. |
For with you is a fountain of life, and in your light we will see light. | 9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. |
Send forth your gracious love to those who know you, and your righteousness to those who are upright in heart. | 10Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart! |
Do not let the foot of the proud crush me; and do not let the hand of the wicked dissuade me. | 11Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away. |
There, those who do evil have fallen; They have been thrown down, and they cannot get up. | 12There the evildoers lie fallen; they are thrust down, unable to rise. |
