Psalm 120
HCSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Holman Christian Standard BibleNew Living Translation
1A song of ascents. In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me." 1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
2 LORD, deliver me from lying lips and a deceitful tongue." 2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.
3What will He give you, and what will He do to you, you deceitful tongue? 3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?
4A warrior's sharp arrows with burning charcoal! 4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.
5What misery that I have stayed in Meshech, that I have lived among the tents of Kedar! 5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.
6I have lived too long with those who hate peace. 6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.
7I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war. 7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!
