More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. | 10They are of greater value than gold, than even a great amount of pure gold; they bring greater delight than honey, than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb. |
Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. | 11Yes, your servant finds moral guidance there; those who obey them receive a rich reward. |
Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults. | 12Who can know all his errors? Please do not punish me for sins I am unaware of. |
Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. | 13Moreover, keep me from committing flagrant sins; do not allow such sins to control me. Then I will be blameless, and innocent of blatant rebellion. |
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. | 14May my words and my thoughts be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my sheltering rock and my redeemer. |
