Psalm 27
ESV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?1Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—whom shall I dread?
When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.2When the wicked came upon me to devour my flesh, my enemies and foes stumbled and fell.
Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.3Though an army encamps around me, my heart will not fear; though a war breaks out against me, I will keep my trust.
One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.4One thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple.
For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.5For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.6Then my head will be held high above my enemies around me. At His tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.
Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me!7Hear, O LORD, my voice when I call; be merciful and answer me.
You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, LORD, do I seek.”8My heart said, “Seek His face.” Your face, O LORD, I will seek.
Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation!9Hide not Your face from me, nor turn away Your servant in anger. You have been my helper; do not leave me or forsake me, O God of my salvation.
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me in.10Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.
Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.11Teach me Your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path, because of my oppressors.
Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.12Do not hand me over to the will of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence.
I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!13Still I am certain to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!14Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait patiently for the LORD!
