Psalm 7
CSB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Christian Standard BibleNew Living Translation
LORD my God, I seek refuge in you; save me from all my pursuers and rescue me1I come to you for protection, O LORD my God. Save me from my persecutors—rescue me!
or they will tear me like a lion, ripping me apart with no one to rescue me.2If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion, tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me.
LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is injustice on my hands,3O LORD my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice,
if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,4if I have betrayed a friend or plundered my enemy without cause,
may an enemy pursue and overtake me; may he trample me to the ground and leave my honor in the dust. Selah5then let my enemies capture me. Let them trample me into the ground and drag my honor in the dust. Interlude
Rise up, LORD, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my adversaries; awake for me; you have ordained a judgment.6Arise, O LORD, in anger! Stand up against the fury of my enemies! Wake up, my God, and bring justice!
Let the assembly of peoples gather around you; take your seat on high over it.7Gather the nations before you. Rule over them from on high.
The LORD judges the peoples; vindicate me, LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity.8The LORD judges the nations. Declare me righteous, O LORD, for I am innocent, O Most High!
Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous. The one who examines the thoughts and emotions is a righteous God.9End the evil of those who are wicked, and defend the righteous. For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God.
My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.10God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right.
God is a righteous judge and a God who shows his wrath every day.11God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day.
If anyone does not repent, he will sharpen his sword; he has strung his bow and made it ready.12If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow.
He has prepared his deadly weapons; he tips his arrows with fire.13He will prepare his deadly weapons and shoot his flaming arrows.
See, the wicked one is pregnant with evil, conceives trouble, and gives birth to deceit.14The wicked conceive evil; they are pregnant with trouble and give birth to lies.
He dug a pit and hollowed it out but fell into the hole he had made.15They dig a deep pit to trap others, then fall into it themselves.
His trouble comes back on his own head; his own violence comes down on top of his head.16The trouble they make for others backfires on them. The violence they plan falls on their own heads.
I will thank the LORD for his righteousness; I will sing about the name of the LORD Most High.17I will thank the LORD because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
