Colossians 3
CSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.1If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.2Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.3For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.4When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.5Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Because of these, God's wrath is coming upon the disobedient,6On account of these the wrath of God is coming.
and you once walked in these things when you were living in them.7In these you too once walked, when you were living in them.
But now, put away all the following: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth.8But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices9Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices
and have put on the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your Creator.10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
In Christ there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all.11Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.
Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,12Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.13bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.14And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful.15And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives and don't be bitter toward them.19Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they won't become discouraged.21Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
Slaves, obey your human masters in everything. Don't work only while being watched, as people-pleasers, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord.22Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people,23Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
For the wrongdoer will be paid back for whatever wrong he has done, and there is no favoritism.25For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.
