LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger; do not discipline me in your wrath.1For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments, according to Sheminith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger or discipline me in Your wrath.
Be gracious to me, LORD, for I am weak; heal me, LORD, for my bones are shaking;2Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am frail; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are in agony.
my whole being is shaken with terror. And you, LORD--how long?3My soul is deeply distressed. How long, O LORD, how long?
Turn, LORD! Rescue me; save me because of your faithful love.4Turn, O LORD, and deliver my soul; save me because of Your loving devotion.
For there is no remembrance of you in death; who can thank you in Sheol?5For there is no mention of You in death; who can praise You from Sheol?
I am weary from my groaning; with my tears I dampen my bed and drench my couch every night.6I am weary from groaning; all night I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.
My eyes are swollen from grief; they grow old because of all my enemies.7My eyes fail from grief; they grow dim because of all my foes.
Depart from me, all evildoers, for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping.8Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for the LORD has heard my weeping.
The LORD has heard my plea for help; the LORD accepts my prayer.9The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer.
All my enemies will be ashamed and shake with terror; they will turn back and suddenly be disgraced.10All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.
