| 7therefore the Lord is about to bring against them the mighty floodwaters of the Euphrates-- the king of Assyria with all his pomp. It will overflow all its channels, run over all its banks | 7therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them the waters of the River, mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. | 12"Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. | 12“Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. | 12"You are not to say, 'It is a conspiracy!' In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. | 12Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. | 12Do not call everything an alliance these people say is an alliance. Do not fear what they fear; do not be terrified. |
| 13The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread. | 13But the LORD of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. | 13"It is the LORD of hosts whom you should regard as holy. Afflictions to Idolaters | 19When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? | 19And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living? | 19When they say to you, "Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter," should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? | 19And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? | 19When they say to you, "Consult the spirits of the dead and the spiritists who chirp and mutter," shouldn't a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? |
| 20Consult God's instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. | 20To the teaching and to the testimony!
