Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the palace to speak to the king about impaling Mordecai on the pole he had set up for him. | 4And the king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king’s palace to speak to the king about having Mordecai hanged on the gallows that he had prepared for him. | 4So the king said, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king's palace in order to speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on the gallows which he had prepared for him. | 4And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman thought to himself, "Who is there that the king would rather honor than me?" | 6So Haman came in, and the king said to him, “What should be done to the man whom the king delights to honor?” And Haman said to himself, “Whom would the king delight to honor more than me?” | 6So Haman came in and the king said to him, "What is to be done for the man whom the king desires to honor?" And Haman said to himself, "Whom would the king desire to honor more than me?" | 6So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? | 8have them bring a royal robe the king has worn and a horse the king has ridden, one with a royal crest placed on its head. | 8let royal robes be brought, which the king has worn, and the horse that the king has ridden, and on whose head a royal crown is set. | 8let them bring a royal robe which the king has worn, and the horse on which the king has ridden, and on whose head a royal crown has been placed; | 8Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head: | 8Have them bring a royal garment that the king himself has worn and a horse the king himself has ridden, which has a royal diadem on its head. |
| 9Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to one of the king's most noble princes. Let them robe the man the king delights to honor, and lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming before him, 'This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!'" | 9And let the robes and the horse be handed over to one of the king’s most noble officials. Haman Forced to Honor Mordecai | 10"Go at once," the king commanded Haman. "Get the robe and the horse and do just as you have suggested for Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king's gate. Do not neglect anything you have recommended." | 10Then the king said to Haman, “Hurry; take the robes and the horse, as you have said, and do so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate. Leave out nothing that you have mentioned.” | 10Then the king said to Haman, "Take quickly the robes and the horse as you have said, and do so for Mordecai the Jew, who is sitting at the king's gate; do not fall short in anything of all that you have said." | 10Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. | 10The king told Haman, "Hurry, and do just as you proposed. His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, "Since Mordecai, before whom your downfall has started, is of Jewish origin, you cannot stand against him--you will surely come to ruin!" | 13And Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, “If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of the Jewish people, you will not overcome him but will surely fall before him.” | 13Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him.
