Ravens Feed Elijah

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word."1Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”1Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word."1And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.1Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab, "As the LORD God of Israel lives, I stand before Him, and there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command!"
Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah:2And the word of the LORD came to him:2The word of the LORD came to him, saying,2And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,2Then a revelation from the LORD came to him: "
"Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.3“Depart from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.3"Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.3Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.3Leave here, turn eastward, and hide yourself at the Wadi Cherith where it enters the Jordan.
You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there."4You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”4"It shall be that you will drink of the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to provide for you there."4And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.4You are to drink from the wadi. I have commanded the ravens to provide for you there."

So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.5So he went and did according to the word of the LORD. He went and lived by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan.5So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.5So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.5So he did what the LORD commanded. Elijah left and lived by the Wadi Cherith where it enters the Jordan.
The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.6And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.6The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he would drink from the brook.6And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.6The ravens kept bringing him bread and meat in the morning and in the evening, and he drank from the wadi.
Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land.7And after a while the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.7It happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.7And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.7After a while, the wadi dried up because there had been no rain in the land.

The Widow of Zarephath

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Then the word of the LORD came to him:8Then the word of the LORD came to him,8Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying,8And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,8Then the word of the LORD came to him: "
"Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food."9“Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.”9"Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there; behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you."9Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.9Get up, go to Zarephath that belongs to Sidon and stay there. Look, I have commanded a woman who is a widow to provide for you there."
So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?"10So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.”10So he arose and went to Zarephath, and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks; and he called to her and said, "Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink."10So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.10So Elijah got up and went to Zarephath. When he arrived at the city gate, there was a widow woman gathering wood. Elijah called to her and said, "Please bring me a little water in a cup and let me drink."
As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread."11And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”11As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, "Please bring me a piece of bread in your hand."11And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.11As she went to get it, he called to her and said, "Please bring me a piece of bread in your hand."

"As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread--only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it--and die."12And she said, “As the LORD your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.”12But she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I have no bread, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar; and behold, I am gathering a few sticks that I may go in and prepare for me and my son, that we may eat it and die."12And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.12But she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I don't have anything baked--only a handful of flour in the jar and a bit of oil in the jug. Just now, I am gathering a couple of sticks in order to go prepare it for myself and my son so we can eat it and die."
Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.13And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son.13Then Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go, do as you have said, but make me a little bread cake from it first and bring it out to me, and afterward you may make one for yourself and for your son.13And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.13Then Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid; go and do as you have said. But first make me a small loaf from it and bring it out to me. Afterward, you may make some for yourself and your son,
For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD sends rain on the land.'"14For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.’”14"For thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'The bowl of flour shall not be exhausted, nor shall the jar of oil be empty, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the face of the earth.'"14For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.14for this is what the LORD God of Israel says, 'The flour jar will not become empty and the oil jug will not run dry until the day the LORD sends rain on the surface of the land."
She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.15And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days.15So she went and did according to the word of Elijah, and she and he and her household ate for many days.15And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.15So she proceeded to do according to the word of Elijah. Then the woman, Elijah, and her household ate for many days.
For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.16The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the LORD that he spoke by Elijah.16The bowl of flour was not exhausted nor did the jar of oil become empty, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke through Elijah.16And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.16The flour jar did not become empty, and the oil jug did not run dry, according to the word of the LORD He had spoken through Elijah.

Elijah Raises the Widow's Son

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing.17After this the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became ill. And his illness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.17Now it came about after these things that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his sickness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.17And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.17After this, the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. His illness became very severe until no breath remained in him.
She said to Elijah, "What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?"18And she said to Elijah, “What have you against me, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to remembrance and to cause the death of my son!”18So she said to Elijah, "What do I have to do with you, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my iniquity to remembrance and to put my son to death!"18And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?18She said to Elijah, "Man of God, what do we have in common? Have you come to remind me of my guilt and to kill my son?"
"Give me your son," Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed.19And he said to her, “Give me your son.” And he took him from her arms and carried him up into the upper chamber where he lodged, and laid him on his own bed.19He said to her, "Give me your son." Then he took him from her bosom and carried him up to the upper room where he was living, and laid him on his own bed.19And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.19But Elijah said to her, "Give me your son." So he took him from her arms, brought him up to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed.
Then he cried out to the LORD, "LORD my God, have you brought tragedy even on this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die?"20And he cried to the LORD, “O LORD my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?”20He called to the LORD and said, "O LORD my God, have You also brought calamity to the widow with whom I am staying, by causing her son to die?"20And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?20Then he cried out to the LORD and said, "My LORD God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow I am staying with by killing her son?"

Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the LORD, "LORD my God, let this boy's life return to him!"21Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to the LORD, “O LORD my God, let this child’s life come into him again.”21Then he stretched himself upon the child three times, and called to the LORD and said, "O LORD my God, I pray You, let this child's life return to him."21And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.21Then he stretched himself out over the boy three times. He cried out to the LORD and said, "My LORD God, please let this boy's life return to him!"
The LORD heard Elijah's cry, and the boy's life returned to him, and he lived.22And the LORD listened to the voice of Elijah. And the life of the child came into him again, and he revived.22The LORD heard the voice of Elijah, and the life of the child returned to him and he revived.22And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.22So the LORD listened to Elijah's voice, and the boy's life returned to him, and he lived.
Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, "Look, your son is alive!"23And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper chamber into the house and delivered him to his mother. And Elijah said, “See, your son lives.”23Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house and gave him to his mother; and Elijah said, "See, your son is alive."23And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.23Then Elijah took the boy, brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. Elijah said, "Look, your son is alive."
Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth."24And the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth.”24Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth."24And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.24Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know you are a man of God and the LORD's word from your mouth is true."
