The Light of the Gospel

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.1Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.1Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;1Therefore, since we have this ministry because we were shown mercy, we do not give up.
2Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.2But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.2but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.2Instead, we have renounced shameful secret things, not walking in deceit or distorting God's message, but commending ourselves to every person's conscience in God's sight by an open display of the truth.
3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:3But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.4In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.4in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.4In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

5For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.5For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.5For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.5For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves because of Jesus.
6For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.6For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.6For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.6For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God's glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

Treasures in Jars of Clay

(Romans 6:1-14)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.7But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.7Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us.
8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;8We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;8we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;8We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;
9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;9we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.
10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.10always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.10always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.10We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
11For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.11For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.11For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.11For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.11For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus, so that Jesus' life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.
12So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.12So death is at work in us, but life in you.12So death works in us, but life in you.12So then death worketh in us, but life in you.12So death works in us, but life in you.
13It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak,13Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,13But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE," we also believe, therefore we also speak,13We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;13And since we have the same spirit of faith in keeping with what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke, we also believe, and therefore speak.
14because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself.14knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.14knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you.14Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.14We know that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and present us with you.
15All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.15For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.15For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.15For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.15Indeed, everything is for your benefit, so that grace, extended through more and more people, may cause thanksgiving to increase to God's glory.

16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.16So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.16Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.16Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day.
17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.17For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,17For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;17For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.
18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.18as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.18while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.18So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
