Good News Translation
"Now the LORD has kept his promise: I have succeeded my father as king of Israel, and I have built a temple for the worship of the LORD God of Israel.

New Revised Standard Version
Now the LORD has fulfilled his promise that he made; for I have succeeded my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

Contemporary English Version
The LORD has done what he promised. I am now the king of Israel, and I've built a temple for the LORD our God.
