Give Praise, O Servants of Yahweh
(Psalm 115:1–18)

הַ֥לְלוּ (Hallelu) יָ֨הּ׀ (YAH)!

הַֽ֭לְלוּ (Praise) אֶת־ (-) שֵׁ֣ם (the name) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH).

הַֽ֝לְלוּ (Give praise), עַבְדֵ֥י (O servants) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH).

2  שֶׁ֣֭עֹֽמְדִים (Who are standing) בְּבֵ֣ית (in the house) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH),

בְּ֝חַצְר֗וֹת (in the courts) בֵּ֣ית (of the house) אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ (of our God),

3  הַֽ֭לְלוּ־ (Praise) יָהּ (YAH), כִּי־ (for) ט֣וֹב (good is) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH);

זַמְּר֥וּ (sing praises) לִ֝שְׁמ֗וֹ (to His name), כִּ֣י (for) נָעִֽים׃ (it is pleasant).

4  כִּֽי־ (For) יַעֲקֹ֗ב (Jacob) בָּחַ֣ר (has chosen) ל֣וֹ (for Himself) יָ֑הּ (YAH),

יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל (Israel) לִסְגֻלָּתֽוֹ׃ (for His possession).

5  כִּ֤י (For) אֲנִ֣י (I) יָ֭דַעְתִּי (know) כִּי־ (that) גָד֣וֹל (great is) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH),

וַ֝אֲדֹנֵ֗ינוּ (and our Lord) מִכָּל־ (is greater than all) אֱלֹהִֽים׃ (gods).

6  כֹּ֤ל (All) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) חָפֵ֥ץ (delights in) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH) עָ֫שָׂ֥ה (He does),

בַּשָּׁמַ֥יִם (in the heavens) וּבָאָ֑רֶץ (and on the earth),

בַּ֝יַּמִּ֗ים (in the seas) וְכָל־ (and all) תְּהוֹמֽוֹת׃ (the depths).

7  מַֽעֲלֶ֣ה (Bringing up) נְשִׂאִים֮ (the clouds)

מִקְצֵ֪ה (from the ends) הָ֫אָ֥רֶץ (of the earth).

בְּרָקִ֣ים (Lightning) לַמָּטָ֣ר (for the rain) עָשָׂ֑ה (He has made);

מֽוֹצֵא־ (bringing forth) ר֝וּחַ (the wind) מֵאֽוֹצְרוֹתָֽיו׃ (from His storehouses).

8  שֶֽׁ֭הִכָּה (Who struck) בְּכוֹרֵ֣י (the firstborn) מִצְרָ֑יִם (of Egypt),

מֵ֝אָדָ֗ם (from man) עַד־ (even to) בְּהֵמָֽה׃ (beast).

9  שָׁלַ֤ח׀ (He sent forth) אֹת֣וֹת (signs) וּ֭מֹפְתִים (and wonders) בְּתוֹכֵ֣כִי (into your midst) מִצְרָ֑יִם (O Egypt),

בְּ֝פַרְעֹ֗ה (unto Pharaoh), וּבְכָל־ (and all) עֲבָדָֽיו׃ (of his servants).

10  שֶֽׁ֭הִכָּה (Who struck) גּוֹיִ֣ם (nations) רַבִּ֑ים (many)

וְ֝הָרַ֗ג (and killed) מְלָכִ֥ים (kings) עֲצוּמִֽים׃ (mighty):

11  לְסִיח֤וֹן׀ (Even Sihon) מֶ֤לֶךְ (king) הָאֱמֹרִ֗י (of the Amorite),

וּ֭לְעוֹג (and Og) מֶ֣לֶךְ (king) הַבָּשָׁ֑ן (of Bashan),

וּ֝לְכֹ֗ל (and all) מַמְלְכ֥וֹת (the kingdoms) כְּנָֽעַן׃ (of Canaan).

12  וְנָתַ֣ן (And He gave) אַרְצָ֣ם (their land) נַחֲלָ֑ה (as an inheritance),

נַ֝חֲלָ֗ה (an inheritance) לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל (to Israel) עַמּֽוֹ׃ (His people).

13  יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), שִׁמְךָ֣ (Your name) לְעוֹלָ֑ם (is forever);

יְ֝הוָ֗ה (YHWH), זִכְרְךָ֥ (Your memorial) לְדֹר־ (is to generation) וָדֹֽר׃ (and generation).

14  כִּֽי־ (For) יָדִ֣ין (will vindicate) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) עַמּ֑וֹ (His people),

וְעַל־ (and on) עֲ֝בָדָ֗יו (His servants) יִתְנֶחָֽם׃ (He will have compassion).

15  עֲצַבֵּ֣י (The idols) הַ֭גּוֹיִם (of the nations) כֶּ֣סֶף (are silver) וְזָהָ֑ב (and gold),

מַ֝עֲשֵׂ֗ה (the work) יְדֵ֣י (of the hands) אָדָֽם׃ (of man).

16  פֶּֽה־ (Mouths) לָ֭הֶם (are unto them), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ (do they speak);

עֵינַ֥יִם (eyes) לָ֝הֶ֗ם (are unto them), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יִרְאֽוּ׃ (do they see).

17  אָזְנַ֣יִם (Ears) לָ֭הֶם (are unto them), וְלֹ֣א (and not) יַאֲזִ֑ינוּ (do they hear);

אַ֝֗ף (indeed), אֵין־ (no) יֶשׁ־ (there is) ר֥וּחַ (breath) בְּפִיהֶֽם׃ (in their mouths).

18  כְּ֭מוֹהֶם (Like them) יִהְי֣וּ (shall come to be) עֹשֵׂיהֶ֑ם (their makers)—

כֹּ֭ל (everyone) אֲשֶׁר־ (who) בֹּטֵ֣חַ (is trusting) בָּהֶֽם׃ (in them).

19  בֵּ֣ית (O House) יִ֭שְׂרָאֵל (of Israel), בָּרֲכ֣וּ (bless) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH);

בֵּ֥ית (O house) אַ֝הֲרֹ֗ן (of Aaron), בָּרֲכ֥וּ (bless) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH),

20  בֵּ֣ית (O house) הַ֭לֵּוִי (of Levi), בָּרֲכ֣וּ (bless) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH);

יִֽרְאֵ֥י (all you fearing) יְ֝הוָ֗ה (YHWH), בָּרֲכ֥וּ (bless) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

21  בָּ֘ר֤וּךְ (Blessed be) יְהוָ֨ה׀ (YHWH) מִצִּיּ֗וֹן (from Zion),

שֹׁ֘כֵ֤ן (the One dwelling in) יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם (Jerusalem).

הַֽלְלוּ־ (Praise) יָֽהּ׃ (YAH)!
